Projects

Blacktown City Lions is a volunteer organisation in the business of helping and serving the community.  With 90% of funds raised being used to on projects in the Blacktown LGA, there are always interesting events and activities that enable use to engage with the community and support an number of charitable causes on a local, national and international level including:

• Collecting of hygiene products in support of Share the Dignity

• Support of Lions Foundations including; The Australian Lions Hearing Dogs, Australian Lions Foundation, Lions Prostate Cancer Research

• Supporting organisations including:  Beyond Blue, Parkinson's Australia

• Stamp collecting for the Children’s Mobility Foundation

• Collecting used glasses which are regraded, cleaned and distributed both in Australia and abroad under the Lions Sightfirst Foundation - Recycle for Sight Program

• Blacktown Community & Parks Project

• Initiation and ongoing collaboration of an Indigenous Reading Collection at Blacktown Library & Mount Druitt Hub

• School Sponsorship 

• Mayoress Christmas Appeal

• Ongoing support of education initatives with our sister city in the Liverpool Plains

• Blacktown/Mount Druitt Neonatal & Pediatric Fundraising

• Sponsorship and support of the Plumpton Rural Fire Service via projects and service activities
   
• Food Hunger Collections and distrbution to various organisations within the Blacktown LGA
